Hi all,
having built a new magnetc loop antenna, which I will try here at Karlsruhe/Germany
I am hoping for better reception conditions than the last time at Madeira island.
Then I had only a single wire loop and the ML200 for my SDRIQ.This time I will try the ELAD FDM-S2 and a homemade magnetic loop antenna,
which i built out of a 28″ bicycle rim. I cut out a 5cm piece of them rim at the
bottom and put in a piece of plastic to stabilize it. The I wound it – with the
help of my XYL Beatriz DD5JZ – with 16 turns of PVC isolated copper wire
(The exact lenght is not critical) for the ML200.This antenna works so well (inside my flat!) that I have to use my HP attenuator
set to 40dB attenuation for DCF77 on 77 kHz and 20dB for DWD on 147.3 kHz.
I can receive all signals below 20 kHz and hope therefore for good reception
on 17.5 kHz.Vy 73, Alex – DH2ID
