Every year we mark the important United Nations Day here at World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station. So also this year. And this year by offering free entry to both the Transmitter Hall and our fine interactive Exhibition. So warmly welcome to come to us and meet, among other things, members of our friendship association who will start the Alexanderson transmitter and the radio amateurs who will man the ham radio station SK6SAQ runs some QSO:s.
UN Day Monday 24 October 2022, free entrance between 10.00 and 16.00.
(You do not need to buy a ticket, just show up on the spot. (Please note that it is subject to availability due to the maximum number of people allowed in the building).
You get access to the transmitter hall and the exhibition.
The Alexander Friendship Association will be present in the transmitter hall during the day to answer questions about the unique Alexanderson transmitter. We will also show the film “Like a lightning over the Atlantic”.
The transmitter is started and displayed at 11.00 and 14.00.
Note! No transmission over the antenna is made on UN Day this year
(The next SAQ broadcast is planned for 16 November when the World Heritage Convention celebrates 50 years).
The ham radio station SK6SAQ will be open and active.
Note that the Visitor Center with cafe and shop not is open on this day. A toilet is, however, available in the transmitter hall.
Also feel free to use our outdoor grill and bring something good to grill for a nice outdoor lunch with a view of the transmitter towers. You can buy a barbecue ticket here.
