With more than 300 listeners last July, did anyone try generate a pseudo stereo audio signal using processed data from two receiver stations? When my calculations are correct, two stations with about 110 km distance to each other on a line approximately perpendicular to the line towards the transmitter should produce an effect comparable to sound does with my ears. A assume that a receiver somewhere around 1000km distance from the transmitter (e.g south of Germany) would produce a virtual sound source of 1m distance.
Is anybody interested in trying such an experiment? My SAQ receiver is rather poor (small loop antenna, microphone preamplifier, sound card and GNU radio) but probably there are two radio amateurs that could provide the original baseband wideband (48kHz sampled) data stream of the July transmission or are willing to record the next transmission that way. I would try to do the processing and share the results.

      Hello Michael,

I got the transmission from 24th properly with good quality in baseband sampled with 48kHz. Missed some of the tuning but got the whole X-Mas message. Did you read and record as well? If so, please contact me! I will do the processing!

      And hello Everybody!
In case anybody else about 110km east or west of Munich recorded the X-Mas transmission 2016 in baseband as well, please contact me!

      Hello Michael,

thanks for your interest! Your location in Westerheim would be almost perfect when I manage to record the next transmission properly. Since I am no radio amateur (electrical engineer, we can discuss S-parameters, noise figures and antenna gains…) we would have to use mail communication.
Could you please simply record the next transmission (X-mas if it takes place or/and the one next Juli)? Preferred in baseband with 48kHz sample rate, so I could do all the filtering in software. Alternatively you could record the mixed down signal with the (nominal 17.2kHz) carrier shifted to 500Hz and as much bandwidth as possible and mail it (we can use German then of course 😉 ) to archi(at)robinsnest.de?
And I will try to get a professional signal with my unprofessional equipment. 😉
