Hi,
very good signal here today. I was able to decode allmost all.
Signal was -80dB RST 579 in JN49ea, karlsruhe, Germany.
Equipment:
SDR: RFSPACE SDRIQ
Software: SDR console
Filter: JG-LPF74
Cable: H100/25 mtrs.
Antenna: Grahn active magnetic antenna, ferrite moduleDecoded text:

Alexander HahnParticipantI’ve got the transmission decoded now, although I must confess I did it with
the CW Get program, as the transmission had quite a bit of QRM on it.
I also corrected it a bit and some of it may be missing.

Vy 73, Alex – DH2IDAlexander HahnParticipantI received SAQ today with RST 437 at Karlsruhe/Germany, Locator JN49EA.
My equipment today was:
1. ELAD FDM-S2 and homebuilt magnetic antenna (bicycle rim)
2. RFSpace SDR-IQ and Grahn GS5-SE with Alexanderson ferrite moduleUntil 0700 UTC I had an almost clear VLF reception, then a lot of QRM
started at 0730 UTC, which made reception very difficult. Only the
special ferrite module for my Grahn antenna gave me a hint of recepton,
which improved later.I tried to find the QRM source, but had no success. It was very broadband 🙁
Of course, at 0830 UTC there is no noise anymore …
Merry Christmas, Alex – DH2ID
Alexander HahnParticipantStanley, the best information I found is here: https://web.archive.org/web/20050311003838/http://www.antiquewireless.org/otb/blw535202.htm
And the english Wikipedia, of course: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexanderson_alternator
Vy 73, Alex – DH2IDAlexander HahnParticipantSAQ transmission was heard at Karlsruhe JN49ea RST 549, very clear signal.
RX1: RFspace SDRIQ and Grahn GS-5SE indoor active magnetic antenna, attenuator -40dB
Software: CWskimmer I/Q recorder
RX2: WinRadio G305 and homebuilt magnetic loop on 28″ bicycle rim, also indoor, attenuator -20dB
Software: WinRadio advanced recorder, CWskimmer I/Q recorder, CWgetVy 73 and merry xmas from Karlsruhe/Germany
Alex – DH2IDAlexander HahnParticipantReception was not so good here at Karlsruhe (Loc. JN49ea) because of QRN on my magnetic antenna
Grahn GS-5SE with my RFspace SDR-IQ. OTOH I got a signal on the electric antenna (G5RV) with my
SDRplay RSP1a. Signal was about 435. But that was due to the place, as there is big machinery
in the basement (a water turbine and electrical generator) and lots of QRN.
Hope you had a beautiful day up there at Grimeton!
Vy 73, Alex – DH2IDAlexander HahnParticipantSAQ tuning heard here at Kitzbühel 528 now with my SDRIQ
and the Grahn GS5-SE magnetic active
antenna and the VLF2 “Alexanderson” module.
Alex – DH2IDAlexander HahnParticipantHello dear friends,
I heard SAQ today on 17,2 MHz RST 539 here at Kitzbühel/Austria
My location is at 47°27.43′ N 12°22.38′ E
My equipment: SDR-IQ by RFspace, Grahn GS-5-SE active antenna
with the VLF2 “Alexanderson” ferrite module.vy 73, Alex – DH2ID
Alexander HahnParticipantI hope you will stay with CW as the only SAQ transmission mode forever.
SAQ is not an amateur radio station open for experiments, but a World
Heritage Site for all of mankind. It has started with the Morse code, itself
World Heritage, and it should stay with it.If you can’t decode Morse, because you haven’t learned it, there are a lot
of Morse decoding programs around.I record each SAQ transmission and then compare the recording with the
text I’ve written down. Often I have to decode by software to get the text right.Vy 73, Alex – DH2ID
Alexander HahnParticipantHello,
thank you for your christmas transmission on the 24. December 2016.
I could see very faint signals on my screen but could decode only a few words.
My report therefore is only 224 this time.
My location and equipment:
Canico de Baixo on Madeira island, locator IM12np IOTA AF-014
Receiver: RFSPACE SDRIQ
Software: CW Skimmer
Antenna: ML-200 Magnetic loopWe wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year 2017,

Alexander HahnParticipantHejhej from Karlsruhe/Germany JN49ea at 0840 (VVV DE SAQ) and 0900 (Transmission)
I received your transmission with three stations:
1. Flex 6500 and longwire RST 458
2. SDR-IQ and Grahn GS5SE with a power ferrite module RST 579
3. Siemens D2008 Level Meter and 100 kHz output into a WinRadio G305 with a homebuilt frame antenna RST 599I received a very good signal and was quite surprised that my homebuilt frame antenna and the Siemens D2008,
which is a measurement instrument and can be used as a receiver for VLF (200Hz!!!) to HF.
I’m very intersted in the second transmission today, which I will receive with new antenna and RX constellations.73, Alex DH2ID
