We who spend a few hours keeping “the old lady” in a good mood, will of course be happy and inspired when we receive positive feedback from our outside world for our efforts. An example of this is a letter we received from Markus Lemke, who lives in Germany. Together with friends at the DFOSAX amateur radio station near Dresden, a “VLF RX party” was organized at the time of the SAQ broadcasts during the Alexanderson Day. At the gathering, 16 people participated. For the reception a number of equipment were used. The reception was documented on a Morse telegraph made by W. Gurit in Berlin around 1880. Alexander has received a strip from the broadcast where the broadcast message appears. The strip was packed in a very fine custom made wooden box.
We are deeply impressed and very grateful for the fine gift.
